By Barbara Millner FRANKFURT (Dow Jones) – As expected, Norma Group SE recorded a decline in the adjusted EBITA margin in 2017 due to higher raw material prices. However, it was still within the scope of its own forecast. In the fourth quarter, for which the connection technology specialist from Maintal named provisional figures on Wednesday, sales and EBITA also increased significantly thanks to acquisitions. Sales grew by 17.7 percent to 253.6 million euros. The acquisitions contributed an additional 12.8 million euros to growth. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes and amortization of intangible assets (EBITA) increased by 15.0 percent between October and December 2017 to reach € 40.1 million. The adjusted EBITA margin was 15.8 percent after 16.2 percent in the previous year. The reduction of the US corporate income tax rate from 35 percent to 21 percent led to one-time non-cash deferred tax income of € 33.9 million. For the full year, adjusted EBITA increased by 10.8 percent to € 174.5 million. The adjusted EBITA margin fell slightly to 17.2 percent from 17.6 percent due to higher raw material prices. The target was "over 17 percent". At the end of January, Norma had already mentioned some key data. The increase in sales in 2017 by 13.7 percent to 1.02 billion euros was confirmed on Wednesday. Organic sales growth was 8.6 percent. The MDAX listed company did not give a forecast. Norma plans to publish this and the final annual report on March 21.
